Zoo & Animal Collections

This map layer of zoo and animal collections offers a lot of attractions. Wild animals have been kept in captivity almost since the dawn of time. Nevertheless, British sovereigns maintained great parks around many cities in the United Kingdom.

Longleat Safari Park is a family attraction located off the A36 between Bath and Salisbury in Wiltshire.

Longleat Safari Park was established in 1966  and the first drive-through safari park outside of Africa. A Longleat Safari Park ticket also gives entry to the beautiful House, home to the 7th Marquess of Bath and a family favourite.

Longleat House is located amid 900 acres of Capability Brown designed gardens. The family attraction is a magnificent stately house with beautiful decor. The Half-Mile Pond, remodelled by Humphrey Repton, is home to Longleat Safari Park's resident lowland gorilla, Nico.

More than 500 animals are kept at Longleat Safari Park. An observation platform at the Trading Post Picnic Area overlooks the 60-acre East African Game Reserve with slender giraffes (5.5 meters tall), elegant zebras, Llamas, and Camels. Highlights include a rare white rhino, Ankole Cattle with two-meter horns, Père David's Deer, Oryx, Eland, bongos, Warthogs, and Guineafowl. Red-necked wallabies and Pygmy Goats live in Wallaby Wood nearby.

Butterfly World Ltd is another attraction location. It is an indoor tropical garden populated by exotic free-flying butterflies and complemented by a display of fascinating insects.

Based in Stretham, The Animal Experience (Ely) offers informative and entertaining adventures with meerkats, reptiles, birds, and coatis. In addition to providing entertainment and education, they frequently rescue animals.

Since 1995, they've performed at over 2000 private events, schools, veterinary colleges, and universities. Animal Experience's animals are all hand-tame.

The Dublin Zoo is a favourite. The Dublin Zoo was founded after talks in November 1829. Dublin Zoo has seen almost 45 million visits since it debuted on four acres in Phoenix Park in September 1831.

The Zoological Society of Ireland started it in peril. The Lord-Lieutenant loaned the land on the condition that it be returned within two months. Membership payments, admission fees, and contributions funded the animals, structures, and employees.

While keepers and gardeners were hired, the Zoo was run solely by a volunteer committee. The Dublin Zoo team is currently globally influential.

There are other popular zoos and parks located in the united kingdom like the Wheelgate Park, the Peak Wildlife Project, Monkey World Doneraile Wildlife Park, and many others
