Whilst keeping the mystery centre stage, it is placed firmly into the context of a loch with rare & unusual properties: some still motivate expeditions while others can "create" monsters. Here are the results of that exploration, using the very latest multi-media system, original research equipment, and authentic underwater films.
On one hand, Loch's famous "Jurassic Park" reputation, 1000 reliable eye-witnesses, and some classic photography. On the other hand, hoaxes and illusions, Scotland's journey and the legacy of the ice, life in the abyss, and possible underlying truth.
Using a highly effective mix of lasers, digital projection, and special effects, the Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition charts the history of the monster by exploring Scotland’s geological past its folklore, and the various research projects carried out on the Loch. It also reveals the discoveries of some of that research including the environmental fingerprints left in the loch's sediment layers by both nature and mankind.
It is the theatrical style, constant changes of scene, with the touch and feel of authentic expedition equipment which appeal to most children. . Loch Ness Project
The Loch Ness Project has been housed at The Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition for over 30 years, generating scientific information concerning the exploration and investigation into Loch Ness and its famous monster mythology.
‘Deepscan’, named after the famous expedition carried out on the Loch in 1987, is a 1-hour cruise on Loch Ness with skipper Ali. It’s interesting to hear about the various research projects and TV shows that the Deepscan has been involved in. On the way back, It travels very near to Urquhart Castle to get a good view of it.
