The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is situated on Crag Brow in the center of Bowness-on-Windermere, LA23 3BX, and shares a building with the Old Laundry Theatre. The World of Beatrix Potter is a vibrant family attraction bringing to life Beatrix Potter’s enchanting stories in a magical recreation of the beautiful Lake District countryside. The exhibition features favorite characters from the famous books, an award-winning outdoor Peter Rabbit Garden, a superb character-themed family-friendly café, and a world-famous gift shop ensuring all generations of visitors can experience a little bit of Beatrix Potter magic.
The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in the Lake District celebrates everything about Beatrix Potter – the English author and illustrator who is best known for her imaginative children’s books, the most famous of all being the Tale of Peter Rabbit. Beatrix Potter wrote 23 enchanting stories which the Attraction brings to life in a magical recreation of the Lake District countryside.
The Peter Rabbit Garden is a small but perfectly formed show garden that brings to life the kitchen and cottage gardens you see in Beatrix Potter’s illustrations. The garden captures all sorts of details from the stories. Designed by Chelsea RHS Gold medal winner Richard Lucas, the garden is created with local material, including Honister slate and Furness bricks, and tended to use organic principles.
Just outside the front of the Attraction is the Nursery Shop which stocks a huge range of adorable baby gifts including Peter Rabbit brands, along with Sarah Louise, Emile Rose, and Mini La Mode. With beautiful clothes for newborns to 6 years, gorgeous books and soft toys, gifts, and trinkets.
Pop in morning coffee, lunch, or high tea. Signature afternoon tea is famous and kids love their tasty picnic basket. Café serves delicious treats.
It is an enchanting attraction in the English Lake District where Beatrix Potter’s magical stories are brought to life in 3D. This is worth a visit for all ages and the exhibits are very interesting.
